PROGRAMS & ACTIVITIES

GFWC Women's Civic League of Cheyenne has numerous committees that participate in hands-on volunteer opportunities within the community.  We do everything from cleaning a section of the Cheyenne Greenway, to packing meals for the homeless, to stocking food pantries, to hosting cooking classes for young airmen, to installing a bronze within the Cheyenne Arts District downtown. If there is a need in our community, you are sure to find our ladies working to alleviate any suffering.

September 2025

The Women's Civic League collaborated with GFWC Meadowlarks and GFWC X-JWC for GFWC's 2025 Day of Service. Working together we donated 100 handcrafted bags filled with clothing, personal care items and treats to give to women who who have survived sex trafficking and domestic abuse.

This September the Women's Civic League Military Committee proudly hosted a food drive to collect non-perishable items for Veterans Rock, and organization dedicated to uplifting and assisting our local veterans. In addition to the food drive, our members joyfully baked fresh homemade treats for the Adopt an Airman Picnic - a cherished event that brings warmth and connection to young service members stationed far from home. Supporting our military community is a cause close to our hearts.

This September the Women's Civic League Environment Committee proudly carried out two of their most cherished projects - each rooted in stewardship, creativity and community connection.

Members came together to clean up our designated stretch of Cheyenne's beloved Greenway, not only removing litter but also keeping an eye out for hidden treasures that could be repurposed for the upcoming Christmas House. It was a day filled with purpose, laughter, and a shared love for preserving the beauty of our local environment.

Later in month, we had the privilege of supporting Rooted in Cheyenne's Fall Tree Planting event by preparing and serving a hearty meal to their dedicated volunteers. Our pulled pork sandwiches and homemade sweet treats were met with smiles and enthusiastic thumbs up - a small but meaningful way to say thank you to those helping grow a greener future.

We were so proud to support Laramie County's Community Wide Baby Shower in September! Our Youth and Family Services Committee loved being a part of this heartfelt event, celebrating new beginnings and strengthening families in our community.
